The plain text of Genesis 1:1-2 show that the early chapters of Genesis aren’t meant by the authors (or God) to be read as video camera footage, or what Answers in Genesis defines as “real history.”
This approach isn’t supported by the text and rather than accept the Bible on its terms, forces unbiblical human terms onto it, forcing it to answer questions it was never intended to answer.
