When we force our human demands onto God’s word, it becomes our word instead of His. We end up missing the message He has for us, creating unnecessary crises of faith and competitions with modern science and archeology.
The plain text of Genesis 1:1-2 show that the early chapters of Genesis aren’t meant by the authors (or God) to be read as video camera footage, or what Answers in Genesis defines as “real history.”
This approach isn’t supported by the text and rather than accept the Bible on its terms, forces unbiblical human terms onto it, forcing it to answer questions it was never intended to answer.
